Rachel S. Barstow, M.Ed.

As The Children’s Center for Communication Education Director, it is my responsibility to manage academic programs of the school and for the cooperative supervision of teaching and support faculty. It is my personal goal to support our professional staff and families as we provide our students with individualized educational services to meet their unique learning needs.

I have an undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders, a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and an Education Specialist Degree in Special Education Administration. I worked as a SLP/A at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (Salem Hospital) for 3 years prior to joining the CCCBSD team in 2008 as a SLP/A. After a year, I transitioned into the classroom, teaching for 4 years in a transition-aged classroom followed by an elementary and middle school classroom. In 2013 I became the CCC Assistant Program Director and in 2019 the CCC Education Director.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 children, family and friends. I love baking, listening to music, reading, and exploring the shores and trails of the North Shore.
