ASL Classes – Fall 2023

American Sign Language (ASL) is one of the most common languages in the United States and is the language most embraced by the Deaf community.  ASL can be used in a wide range of settings or situations such as in your job, in school or socially.

All classes are taught by CCCBSD faculty. The class will focus on basic vocabulary, Fingerspelling, and how to incorporate facial expression into communication. Deaf Culture and basic grammatical structures will be reviewed as well. Different levels include appropriate material for the class.

An ASL dictionary may be purchased for the class (available at CCCBSD). For adults ages 16 and up. Special exceptions may be made for ages 6 to 15. Please inquire about this possibility.

We are excited to introduce new and improved and customized ASL Classes!

The ASL team is now offering to develop special ASL classes for a group of 5 or more (paying) people from the community. This class may better meet the needs of families, schools, community organizations, etc., who would like to learn as a group. Please e-mail ASL@cccbsd.org for more information.
