Part-Time Art Instructor (3 days)
The Children’s Center for Communication and Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) is seeking a part-time, highly qualified Art Instructor to join our team. CCCBSD is a therapeutic – educational program serving students – ages 3 to 22 – with communication, developmental, sensory, medical, and physical challenges. Class size is 4-5 students.
The Art Instructor provides specifically designed instruction and services to children with a range of communication, physical, behavioral, and/or developmental challenges in regards to art instruction for enrichment purposes. They will adapt and develop materials to match the special and unique needs of each individual student while implementing components of the MA curriculum frameworks. Additionally, across multiple environments, the Art Instructor will use a variety of teaching strategies to ensure that all students reach their learning potential.
Candidates should have experience with children with special needs, classroom art experience, and ability to provide a flexible art program. American Sign Language (ASL) or experience with children with hearing loss is a bonus but not required. Art degree preferred, DESE certification not required.
CCCBSD faculty provide a 204 day schedule for students with traditional school vacations and a 6-week summer calendar. This is a Part-Time (three days/week) position. Position begins July 5th with the start of our new school year.
