The Children’s Center for Communication continues to expand and grow programs for children birth to age 22 with communication and developmental challenges. We are currently seeking an additional classroom teaching assistant for the 2021-2022 school year as we look to expand classrooms.
Small classroom size of 4-5 students with an intensive faculty ratio. Supporting a general life-skills curriculum, classroom instruction, therapeutic and daily care support, use of technology including Assistive Technology and AAC.
Candidates should have experience working in a classroom or special needs setting – candidates should have experience using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Related experience in Human Services and Behavior Management and ABA can be substituted for educational requirement. Typical 180 day school year calendar plus a 24 day summer schedule. You will receive support from a complete team of specialists including: SLPs, OTs, PTs, BCBA, School Psychologist, Assistive Technology support, Adaptive Physical Education, Curriculum Specialists, and more. Recent graduates of Communication Disorders, psychology, or Teaching programs are encouraged to apply. We support our teaching assistants, through tuition reimbursement in developing a career track toward a masters degree and becoming a special needs classroom teacher.
