The After school Program at The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf provides pragmatic learning opportunities and developmentally appropriate enrichment for all children ages 6 to 16 in a safe, nurturing and fully accessible after school setting. Programming is provided to all children, regardless of disability.
Language, communication, and socialization goals are addressed in a recreational environment. Activities are presented in the student’s primary mode of communication and programming is designed to meet the individual needs of students.
The program is offered up to 4 days per week for two, 15-week sessions over the 10-month period of a regularly scheduled school year. Each day of the week offers a different theme (i.e. Mondays – Multi-Sports, Tuesday – Cooking, Wednesdays – Signing Class for Kids, etc.) and is taught by CCCBSD staff.
