Grants are a critical component of helping The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf achieve all of the school’s goals to best help each student. These grants enable CCCBSD to maintain the technology, equipment, and infrastructure that ensures students and faculty important pieces to achieve many successes every day on campus.
Due to a generous grant from the Boston Bruins Foundation we were able to purchase equipment such as a green screen, lighting, camcorder, tripod, and a desktop computer with video editing software. This equipment allows us to take raw video and translate it into projects for the students. For example we can now translate stories like Goodnight Moon in ASL and English. To view video projects, click here to go to our YouTube channel.
We have also been able to create a series of iBooks created for the iPad for a CCC classroom to support their reading program, as well as several iBooks created for our Parent-Infant/Toddler Program and Preschool programs including ASL and spoken English.
