CCCBSD Celebrates 150 Years of Education, Inclusion, and Community

In 2026, The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) proudly celebrates its 150th anniversary, marking a century and a half of educating, supporting, and advocating for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and disabled children and their families. Founded in 1876, CCCBSD has been a cornerstone and leader of inclusive education in Beverly and across the North Shore, evolving alongside advances in education, language access, and disability services while remaining rooted in its mission to meet each child where they are.

Throughout 2026, CCCBSD will commemorate this milestone with a year-long series of events, inviting the community to reflect on the school’s history, celebrate its present impact, and look ahead to its future. Events will include opportunities for storytelling, community engagement, education, and celebration—highlighting the voices and experiences of students, families, alumni, staff, and partners who have shaped CCCBSD across generations.

We are also honored to celebrate alongside the City of Beverly’s 400th anniversary. Together, these milestones reflect a shared history of resilience, growth, and community commitment, underscoring Beverly’s long-standing dedication to education, inclusion, and civic pride.
