At The Institute, Professional Excellence means we are all teachers, and we are all learners. We strive to “raise the bar” for deaf and hearing children by ensuring all faculty have access to resources that improve their professional practice. At CCCBSD, this is achieved by creating a shared responsibility for teaching and learning, and empowering educators to have a voice in their own professional path as well as the organization.
Teaching and Learning
The Institute plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and continued improvement of professional learning at CCCBSD. Teaching and learning opportunities are developed to reflect the “on-the-ground” needs of faculty including teachers, teaching assistants, related service providers, and other professionals. These opportunities are grounded in research about how adults learn best, which help faculty to support students to maximize their successes.
