At The Institute, Scholarship means maintaining the highest expectations for how we engage students. Our practices should always be informed by the most recent findings from the research literature. Additionally, we contribute to the understanding of best practices in Deaf and Special Education by the production of high-quality scholarship that impacts the fields.
Scholarship
Research
The Institute fosters a community of inquiry by engaging in the production and consumption of high quality research and resources within the Deaf and Special Education fields. This creates a two-way street between research and practice. We share the most recent evidence-based practices – or those that research has shown to be successful – with practitioners in the fields of Deaf and Special Education. Alternatively, we strive to produce, publish, and present research that can continually push these fields collectively further. This research can be conducted in partnership with a variety of scholars, from international leaders in the field to classroom teachers.
